About the Theatre
The O'Kane Theatre is part of the Department
of Arts & Humanities and has been a part of University of Houston-Downtown
for over thirty years. Students, faculty, staff and alumni have
enjoyed participation from performing on stage to working back
stage.
Recent productions of the theatre have included: The Mousetrap, Romeo & Juliet,
MacBeth, Oedipus The King, Plaza Suite, A Few Good Men, The Little
Foxes, Small
Craft Warnings, Fences , Steel Magnolias,
and Ghosts.
The O'Kane Theatre, located in the Main building of the UHD campus,
provides its patrons with an intimate environment, suitable for
a more involving theatre experience. This intimacy gives
the audience member a feeling of up close and personal with the
action on stage.
